Educational Visit at TURBOMED in Schisto, Piraeus
On Thursday 25th of October 2018 Morfotiko / Culture Club conducted an educational visit to “TURBOMED S.A.” in Schisto, Piraeus.
The visit’s program was directly related to the participants’ field of studies, scientific and academic interests.
A welcoming speech by the CEO of “TURBOMED S.A.” Mr. Paraskeuopoulos followed by a guided tour to the company’s facilities, such as the spare parts warehouse, the engineering workshop and the offices. Club’s members and the participants were informed about the operation and administration procedures of a state of the art technical company at the shipping market.
The participants were also learned a lot of valuable information from the company’s executives, regarding the turbocharger and spare parts services provided, a vessel’s mechanical needs, the conditions of working in such an environment and the current requirements and challenges of the mechanical and shipping sector in general.
Later on, the company’s executives presented the company’s philosophy and international action, the organizational structure, financial and technological activities and it’s future plans. Guidelines were also given regarding the opportunities and threats in such a workplace. Throughout TURBOMED’s presentation, all kinds of questions were asked and directly answered by the executives.
The visit was completed with commemorative gift exchanging, closing speeches and photos.
