Celebrating Morfotiko / Culture Club’s 5 years of establishment!

On Thursday 31st of October 2019, Morfotiko / Culture Club visited Athens International Airport (AIA) on a special educational visit, marking the 5 years celebration of Club’s establishment. The visit was hosted by AIA’s Cargo Development team.

Students had the opportunity to visit the cargo terminals and see from close a cargo aircraft. They boarded inside its fuselage and the cockpit along with the flight engineer and discussed its special design and functionality. Following, they witnessed the live offloading of the aircraft and had a detailed discussion with all the staff and executives responsible.

Next, all participants had the opportunity to be taken on an airside drive observing parked aircraft and movements, and various buildings. The program continued in the Administration Building with presentations about cargo services offered and relevant developmental plans of Athens International Airport.

Lastly, Morfotiko / Culture Club was offered a visit at one of the airport’s cargo terminals, where all inbound or outbound freight and mail is being accepted, checked, loaded/onloaded and transported to/from the aircraft.

Participants took with them interesting facts and new knowledge in aviation logistics through their interaction with the executives of one of the most important airports in Europe.

In the closing of the visit both parts, after their closing speeches, exchanged commemorative gifts and took group photos.

Our next appointment at Athens International Airport has already been “booked”, as both Morfotiko / Culture Club and Athens International Airport promised to reunite for Club’s 10 years of establishment anniversary!
